A design gem where style meets function

With its dual-aspect natural light and Haussmannian mouldings, the apartment already had all the makings of a beautiful setting that would reflect Danièle and Jean-François’s personalities. But renovating a compact space calls above all for ingenuity, ensuring that every square metre reaches its full potential. A sophisticated boudoir-style kitchen was therefore created in the passageway between the bedroom and living room, making it possible to have both a dedicated kitchen area and a true living space: a genuine luxury in a 19 m² apartment. Functionality is taken to its fullest expression: glass sliding doors between the different spaces allow light to flow freely, bespoke storage keeps suitcases neatly out of sight, while walnut shelving wraps around an irregularly shaped structural wall.

The iconic detail

A painting in ultramarine blue, streaked with orange, and a Serax ceramic vase, two pieces particularly dear to Danièle. These striking objects immediately resonated with a tartan fabric sourced by Maison Kyka’s artistic director: a sumptuous Christian Lacroix silk by Lelièvre, accented with black velvet stripes.

With its village-like atmosphere, market and schools, this neighbourhood in the 16th arrondissement is the perfect setting for a secure, high-end pied-à-terre. Strolling through its streets, admiring the beauty of its Haussmannian façades and even catching a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower are among those suspended moments that make everyday life here feel both peaceful and refined.
