When Constance set out on her first real estate project, it was with a heavy heart that she left behind her longtime friend and roommate. And yet, it was that very friendship that led her to her future home, just a few steps from the Canal Saint-Martin. A bright and calming apartment, chosen with heart. An intimate space where the word “cocoon” truly takes on meaning. Welcome to her home.
Naturally, Constance turned to Maison Kyka—whose work she had followed from the very beginning—to guide her through the process. Initially, she asked Anton to focus the search in the southern part of the 18th arrondissement, her beloved former neighborhood. After several visits, a negotiation, and an accepted offer near Place Jules Joffrin, fate intervened: her former roommate announced that the adjacent apartment in the 10th was for sale. Though over budget, Anton’s sharp negotiation turned the tide—and the dream became reality.
With its 36 sqm and courtyard-facing windows, Constance’s apartment had everything it needed to become an intimate, quintessentially Parisian space. Her only request: to preserve and enhance the features that had captured her heart. Our studio took inspiration from the Prussian ceramic stove, original hardwood floors, and ornate moldings to design an interior that’s both understated and elegant—bringing out the apartment’s inimitable charm. A base of soft hues like ecru and blush pink was enriched with deeper green accents, structuring the space and echoing the central stove in the living room.
Having followed the progress of the renovation closely and chosen every decorative element with care, Constance felt entirely at ease throughout the process—counting down the days until she could move in.
The living area perfectly embodies the spirit of the project: balancing aesthetics, comfort, and functionality. To meet all three goals, we designed custom joinery combining open and closed units with rounded edges. This composition is both graphic and inviting—structuring the space without overwhelming it, while offering generous storage. Seamlessly integrated into the living room, it becomes a true anchor for the home, ready to host Constance’s shared moments.
Canal Saint-Martin is one of those Paris neighborhoods that never loses its charm. Cosmopolitan and teeming with diversity, it still exudes a village-like atmosphere, where trendy restaurants mingle with long-standing local shops. Food lovers will feel right at home, while those craving greenery will find a peaceful retreat at the Jardin Villemin – Mahsa Jîna Amini, a welcome oasis amid the city’s bustle.
