When Constance set out to buy her first property, it was with a heavy heart that she left behind her roommate and longtime friend. And yet, it was that very friendship that led her to her future home, just a stone’s throw from the Canal Saint-Martin. A bright and soothing apartment, chosen with the heart. An intimate space where the word “cocoon” takes on its full meaning. Welcome to her home.

The Meeting with Maison Kyka

Constance had been following Maison Kyka since its early days so she naturally called upon our teams to guide her through the process. Initially, she asked Anton to focus the search in the southern part of the 18th arrondissement, her beloved former neighbourhood. After several visits, a negotiation, and even an accepted offer for a place near Place Jules Joffrin, fate intervened: her former roommate told her that the apartment next door in the 10th arrondissement was for sale. Though over budget, Anton’s sharp negotiation turned the tide, and the dream became reality.

Parisian Simplicity

With its 36 sqm and courtyard-facing windows, Constance’s apartment had all the fundamentals to become an intimate, quintessentially Parisian space. Her only request was to preserve and enhance the features that had caught her eye. Our studio took inspiration from the Prussian ceramic stove, original hardwood floors, and ornate mouldings to design an interior that’s understated yet elegant, bringing out the apartment’s unmistakable charm. Soft hues like ecru and blush pink were supplemented with deeper green accents to structure the space and echo the living room’s stove.

Having followed the progress of the renovation closely and chosen every decorative element with care, Constance felt at ease throughout the process – counting down the days until she could finally move in.

The Iconic Detail

The living area perfectly embodies the spirit of the project: balancing aesthetics, comfort, and functionality. To meet all three goals, we designed custom joinery that combined open and closed units with rounded edges. This composition is warm and visually appealing, structuring the space without overwhelming it, while offering generous storage. Seamlessly integrated into the living room, it becomes a true anchor for the home, around which Constance will be making new memories for years to come.

Canal Saint-Martin, a postcard-worthy area in the 10ᵀᴴ arrondissement

Canal Saint-Martin is one of those Paris neighbourhoods that never loses its charm. Cosmopolitan and teeming with diversity, it exudes a village-like atmosphere where trendy restaurants coexist with long-standing local shops. Food lovers will feel right at home there, while those craving greenery will find a peaceful retreat at the Jardin Villemin - Mahsa Jîna Amini, an invaluable oasis amid the city’s bustle.
